TRAIL SETUP!
We are in desperate need of someone to take over Doug Woolson's trail. Doug has agreed to continue to help and give guidance but can not continue because of his work schedule. His job is very important to his family and does not want to jeopardize it by taking time off to work on trails that you all enjoy to ride on. Doug and his helpers will continue to be there. You do not have to find helpers. Just be the main contact to the landowners and organize work parties. Please give this some thought and give him a call or email to
DHWOOLSON@aol.com or trail_treasurer@snochiefs .net
Doug Caldwell and crew did a great job fixing the Pendleton Bridge heading to Pour Boyz

The Shawnee Sno-Chiefs Snowmobile Club, Inc., a member of the New York State Snowmobile Association, serves the Niagara County Region including the towns of Lewiston, Cambria, Niagara, Pekin, Ransomville. Sanborn, and Wheatfield. We work in cooperation with other clubs in the region to interconnect our trails.
Our goals are to have fun enjoying our sport while promoting safety and responsibility. Virtually all of our trails are on private property; we work throughout the year with landowners, addressing their concerns and working to place trails to have a minimal impact on farm crops. No wheeled vehicles (ATV’s) are allowed on our trails at any time, based on landowners’ requests.
We also work very closely with local law enforcement to ensure that all sleds on the trails are doing so legally. If you’re not sure about what you need, please view the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles requirements. Insurance and registration are much cheaper than any ticket!
Our trails are groomed with a club owned groomer/drag when conditions permit. The club has also donated a sled and half the cost of an emergency trailer to the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company for use in the event of a requirement for a trail rescue. We participate in rescue exercises with the fire company.
We also hold a New York State Snowmobile Certification Course annually. Several members are N. Y. State Certified Instructors. Any child between the ages of 10 and 18 may ride the trails as long as they’ve participated in a snowmobile safety course and are accompanied by an adult.
We meet the first Monday of each month (August through March) at the Shawnee Fire Company: 3747 Lockport Road, Shawnee (Sanborn), NY 14132. The meetings are at 7:30 p.m. Please feel free to join us!
