So far?  A fantastic winter!  We’ve had some great snow and conditions.  A big thanks to all our groomer operators for keeping the trails in great shape!  If you see a groomer out, give them a wave!  Also, it is New York State Law that you must yield to all groomers – do not pass them until they signal it is safe for you to do so.

We are currently running several fundraisers right now – these fundraisers keep fuel in our groomers, buy parts when they break along with trail stakes and signs.  We have already groomed almost 200 hours and have used well north of 700 gallons of diesel fuel (and that isn’t getting any cheaper)!

Our Daily Lottery Drawing for March 2022 still has plenty of tickets available, a $25 prize per day and a $100 prize for March 17, 2022 is based on the NYS Daily Number Nightly drawing.  Rodney will be happy to deliver and/or pick up tickets.  Please call him at 716-628-0731

Our Annual Grill raffle drawing will be on April 9th, tickets are $5 apiece or 3 for $10.  Prizes include a Weber 210 Porcelain Grill, a freezer filled with meat, a stay at Russell’s, some $100 cash prizes, and some meat packages (9 total prizes!).  Please call or text Lonnie at 716-818-5797 for more info!

We have the 2022 Statewide Super Raffle tickets – the drawing will be on April 23rd.  There are 56 total prizes, including grand prizes of 3 different sleds or $5000 cash.  The club gets half of every $5 ticket sold.  Please call or text Gary at 716-807-7002 for more info and tickets!

Our 15th Annual Landowner Appreciation Dinner will be on April 9th.  The club has decided to do a drive-through style dinner at the Groomer Barn again, due to COVID concerns.  We need some help picking up all the items, filling the boxes, and distributing them.  We will be manning the grill for our volunteers too!  The drive-

through hours will be from 10 A.M. – 2 P.M.  If you are willing to help thank our landowners (who make all our trails possible), please call or text Gary 716-807-7002.

Club Ride will be February 19th in Cherry Creek!  Meet at 9:00 A.M. at Boutwell State Forest (Ruttenbur Road at Lewis Road Parking Area) in Charlotte, N.Y.  Contact Gary Keil at 716-909-1470 for more information.

Want to help out on the trails? Trail Building–Call Brent 523-2320/Pete at 628-4841.  We always need volunteers to help make our trails possible.  You can meet and talk to trail captains at any of our club meetings!

Do you like smooth trails?  Know how they get that way?  Come and be part of our great reputation for smooth trails!  We really need volunteers to help with Groomer Maintenance, Groomer Operation and Barn Upkeep – as we’ve lost some of our operators and maintainers.  Mechanical abilities are a plus, but we will help teach anyone interested.  If you have some time and/or experience, would like to help out or if you are willing to learn, please call Paul at 716-310-8290 or Herb at 716-523-1242.

Shawnee Sno-Chiefs logo clothing is available to order at each meeting- Sno-Chiefs Logo wear must be pre-ordered and pre-paid-Call Brent at 716-523-2320.

If you have children going to college, there are several scholarships available for children of members:  Club, NYSSA, Northeast Chapter of the International Snowmobile Council, The International Snowmobile Media Council, just to name a few.  Please keep an eye out for deadlines.  For due dates and instructions check out www.snochiefs.net,  www.nysnowmobiler.com, www.Snowmobilers.orgwww.snowmobilemedia.org.  For more info contact Gary Broderick at 716-807-7002.

The club is always looking for ideas for club rides, get togethers, and other activities.  If you have any ideas, please let one of the Board members know.  We want to have fun along with building and maintaining trails.

We’d like to recognize all the establishments on our trail system and welcome some new ones!  Taylors Tap and Grill, Wagner’s Farm Market, Tecla Rustic Bistro and

Bar, Hoover’s Restaurant, Tony’s Sanborn Pizza, Tim Horton’s, Halligan’s Tavern, Pendleton Creek Golf Club and Pub, Valero Gas, Kenyon’s Variety and Gas, Hebeler Sales and Service, and Bob Weaver Motorsports & Marine.  These folks are our sponsors and in some cases, landowners!  Please frequent their locations and show your support for those that support your club!

We had the pleasure of awarding Samantha Shively and Josh Milleville each a $1000 scholarship check as winners from last year’s round of scholarship awards.  Here is Samantha with her mom and dad and Lonnie:
